Beaches

Pembrokeshire is home to over 70 beaches, some of these known to be ‘The Best in the UK’, I can totally agree with this statement. ‘Whitesands’ – St, Davids, is known for its clean beach and great surf! It also has a great café, the coast path, public toilets and a camp site. ‘Newgale’ another great family beach with all the amenities, why not take some surfing lessons here? Or have your first experience of windsurfing or kitesurfing!  ‘Abereiddy’ is not only a lovely sandy family beach but it’s also home to the ‘Blue Lagoon’.

Experience a piece of Pembrokeshire by coasteering at the Blue Lagoon, one of many operators is TYF Adventures! (www.tyf.com/adventure). ‘Barafundle Bay’ is a truly stunning beach; walk over the cliff top to the beach where sand dunes, golden sand and clear water will greet you.

Quieter less known beaches are around which are equally as beautiful. ‘Treath Llyfyn’, a short walk to get to, but well worth it; situated between the fishing village of Porthgain and Abereiddy. We’re not short of beaches here in Pembrokeshire, so you’re bound to find that big, sandy family beach, surfy strand or away-from-it-all cove.
Plan your route and choose which beaches to stop off at on the way!

Boat trips

Something you just have to do in this part of the world is to take a boat ride over to Pembrokeshire’s unique islands. Sail around or visit Caldey (off Tenby), Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm (off Dale peninsula) and Ramsey (off St, Davids). They are bursting with wildlife that will leave you amazed with sea birds such as razorbills and guillemots which are found in huge numbers. You’ll enjoy seeing the dolphins and seals who love to make an appearance when you least expect it!
